According to people’s belief, the idol of Shri Ram Gopal Ji located in Sitaram Ji Temple looks like both Lord Ram and Lord Krishna. The legend behind this idol is that Lord Krishna had appeared to Tulsidas ji in the form of Lord Rama and what Tulsidas saw has been described in this idol. The Hanuman temple situated in Galta ji is famous all over the country for its unbroken flame, its flame has been burning continuously for the last several centuries. Apart from these, there are many small temples in the Galata Ji complex which extends from Galata Gate to Shri Sitaram Ji Temple.

One of the most special tourist places of Jaipur, this temple complex has natural fresh water springs and seven sacred ‘Kunds’. Of all these ponds, Galata Kund is considered to be the most sacred, which never dries up. Every year on the special occasion of Makar Sankranti festival, taking a dip in this holy pond is considered very auspicious. Along with this, Gaumukh located here is also quite famous for its pure and clean flowing water. The natural water springs located in the Galtaji temple also hold special religious significance and are highly revered by the devotees. Water automatically circulates and collects in ponds in the premises of this temple. The most special thing about this natural spring is that its water never dries up which amazes the devotees who come here.

According to old legends in the sacred script of Galvashram Mahatmaya, it is said that on the full moon day during the Hindu month of Kartik, also known as Kartik Purnima, the Trimurti, Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh come to visit Galata Ji. Therefore, by taking a dip in Galata Kund on this day, devotees get manifold blessings. Therefore, on every Kartik Purnima, a large number of devotees gather here to visit Galata Kund and take a dip. According to another belief, it is believed that to complete the religious pilgrimage of Char Dham and Saptapuris, everyone has to take a dip in the holy Galata Kund once. If this is not done, the pilgrimage of the devotees is considered incomplete.
