Pandavas return to their kingdom
During the Mahabharata period, the Kauravas, with the help of Shakuni uncle, defeated the Pandavas in a game of chess and fraudulently took away everything from them and they had to leave the kingdom and go into exile for 13 years. On Kartik Amavasya, 5 Pandavas (Yudhisthir, Bhima, Arjun, Nakul and Sahadev) returned to their kingdom after completing 13 years of exile. People of the state lit lamps to celebrate his return.
