Churu : The 230th Shraddha of Sant Mohandas Ji Maharaj, a devotee of Siddhpeeth Salasar Balaji, was celebrated with pomp in Churu district of Rajasthan. It is considered to be the world’s largest Shraddha, in which more than one lakh devotees arrived from far and wide. The event was held on Monday, and 51,000 kg of halwa was prepared for the devotees.

Regarding Saint Mohandas Ji, it is believed that Balaji Maharaj was pleased with his devotion and appeared before him. Consuming Prasad on the day of Shraddha is believed to cure stomach diseases, due to which every year thousands of devotees gather at Salasar on this day. Temple priest Arvind ji says that on this occasion there is a fair-like atmosphere in the temple premises, and a huge crowd of devotees gathers.
Shraddha halwa is very special
The preparations for Shraddha start a week in advance. Two dozen confectioners start making halwa two days in advance. Halwa is prepared in a big pan and served to the devotees along with Sushwa and Panch Mela vegetable.
Hanuman ji appeared in the form of beard and moustache.
Regarding the devotion of Saint Mohandas ji, it is said that Hanuman ji had appeared to him in the form of beard and moustache. Impressed by his penance and devotion, Hanuman ji had said that he would always appear in this form. Due to the devotion of Saint Mohandas ji, the statue of Hanuman ji was installed in Salasar Dham, which is still a center of attraction for the devotees. Thus, the world’s largest Shraddha held in Churu has taken religious faith and devotion to a new height.
