Jaipur : The festival of Diwali is celebrated with great pomp every year, but along with it the concern about environmental safety also increases. This year, the Environment Department of Rajasthan has issued some special instructions for bursting crackers on the occasion of Diwali. According to the order, the time for bursting crackers has been fixed from 8 pm to 10 pm. Apart from this, on the occasion of Christmas and New Year, burning of firecrackers will be allowed from 11:55 pm to 12:30 am.
Complete ban on bursting of firecrackers within a radius of 100 meters from these places
Authorities have imposed a complete ban on bursting of firecrackers within a radius of 100 meters near quiet areas such as hospitals, schools, and religious places. These steps not only ensure the safety of people, but are also an effort to save the environment. Along with this, strict action will be taken against those selling banned firecrackers.
How many people have received licenses so far?
The process of issuing licenses for opening firecracker shops in the state has also been started. Under Jaipur Police Commissionerate, 1394 shopkeepers have got licenses to sell firecrackers. Till last week, 2083 shopkeepers had applied, out of which only those who met the standards have been issued licenses.
These special instructions were given to shopkeepers
Shopkeepers will have to follow some special conditions, such as they will not be able to sell firecrackers to children and smoking materials or inflammable items will not be kept near the shop. The purpose of these rules is to keep in mind the safety as well as the environment.
Police will take action against those who break the rules
Administrative officials say that bursting and selling firecrackers will have to be done only after observing the rules, otherwise the police can also take action. It is noteworthy that three cities of Rajasthan are also included in the ten most polluted cities of the country. Among these, Hanumangarh, Bhiwadi and Jodhpur cities are included.
