Jodhpur : The route of movement of railway passengers has been changed at Jodhpur Railway Station of North Western Railway. DRM Pankaj Kumar Singh said that the mega upgradation work of the railway station is in progress and keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the passengers, the railway administration is making changes in the entry and exit gates at Jodhpur Railway Station.
Reservation counter and enquiry window changed
DRM Pankaj Kumar Singh said that arrangements for unreserved, platform, current reservation counter and enquiry window for passengers from the railway station are being made at gate number one of the station, which is located near the escalators and the engine kept in the circulating area. Along with this, entry of passengers on the platform has also been ensured.
Know where unreserved tickets will be sold
He said that although entry will continue from the main gate, but the counters for selling unreserved tickets have been shifted to the hall with gate number one. Hence, entry of passengers from there will be more convenient. According to Senior DCM Vikas Kheda, a new exit gate has been made from the Integrated Loco Lobby (near the Station Master’s Office) for the passengers to exit the railway station, which will open in the circulating area near the escalators. From where passengers will be able to go to the main road. He said that as long as the redevelopment work continues, this arrangement for the movement of passengers will remain the same.
Shifting of such facilities
In view of the construction work under the mega upgradation, the station offices have been temporarily shifted elsewhere. For passenger convenience, general and sleeper waiting rooms, cloakroom and toilets in the circulating area outside the station and all high class air-conditioned with toilets near the parcel house on platform number one have been opened for passengers. While the RPF station has been shifted near the senior subordinate rest house and the food stalls near the CTI office.
