There has been tremendous improvement in ‘Brand India’ in the last few years due to the economic development of the country: Soumitra Dutta

New Delhi, December 4 (IANS). Professor Soumitra Dutta of Oxford University told IANS in an exclusive interview that due to the economic progress in the last few years, the image of ‘Brand India’ has improved significantly and India is seen as an attractive place for investment.

“When I talk to young people in India, I tell them that the brand you have right now is a huge advantage and they don’t take it for granted,” said Dutta, dean of the business school and professor at the University of Oxford. When I came to study abroad 30 years ago, the brand of India was very different.”

He further said, “India is a land of opportunities and is seen as a big player on the global stage. This becomes more important because apart from being a big country, India also has a large population. Is.”

On behalf of the professor, it was said that India should be seen as an important contributor to the development of the entire world. India has also been a contributor to real development in the Global South. For example, Pragati System which has been successful in expediting the completion of stalled large infrastructure projects.

He further said that the Pragati ecosystem is a lesson for the Global South. Other leaders in the Global South and large parts of Africa, Latin America and Asia also need major investments in infrastructure and sweeping changes. They also need to know how to do these projects better and more effectively, faster and more efficiently.

“The Pragati ecosystem shows them the path to do that. I think India is in a position where it can not only help itself but also help others,” Dutta said.

Dutta, co-author of the Oxford University report titled “From Gridlock to Growth – How Leadership Powers Growth Through India’s Progress Ecosystem”, said the focus of the study was on India’s progress in building a national digital infrastructure. How has it affected the development of the nation?
