Bikaner : Army jawan Ramswaroop Kaswan posted in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, was martyred after being shot in the head. Ramswaroop Kaswan was a resident of Panchu village of Nokha tehsil of Bikaner. He was posted in the 65th regiment of the Army in Anantnag, Srinagar. On Tuesday morning, he was shot in the head and was immediately taken to the Army hospital. But the doctors could not save him and he died.
District Sainik Welfare Officer declared suicide
His body was brought to Bikaner today and the army was scheduled to take it to his native village Panchu in the morning. But during that time, his family members and people from the community gathered in front of the District Sainik Welfare Officer’s office and started protesting against the District Sainik Welfare Officer declaring the soldier’s death as suicide. They allege that the District Sainik Welfare Officer has declared the death of martyr Ramswaroop Kaswan as suicide without any Court of Inquiry. A large number of people from the martyr’s community gathered and started protesting over this issue.
The army returned with the coffin
Meanwhile, when the army sent the body of the martyr in a truck with full respect, the people of the martyr’s community gathered in front of the truck. They said that they were given time of quarter to nine to take the body to Panchu, but they were sent in the morning itself. When they protested a lot, the army officers took the body back to the army premises.
Family’s allegation- Court of Inquiry declared it a suicide
Sitaram and Pappu Siyag, family members of martyr Ramswaroop, say that the District Sainik Welfare Officer has declared the martyr’s death as suicide without any basis, which should be investigated. Whereas something can be said about this only after the Court of Inquiry by the Army. They told that the army officials also say the same thing that nothing can be said without a Court of Inquiry.
Ram Swaroop Kaswan got married last year
Martyr Ramswaroop Kaswan was a resident of Panchu village in Nokha tehsil of Bikaner and was the fourth among five brothers. One of his elder brothers Shriram Kaswan is employed as a clerk in the army. His mother Rampyari and father Motaram live in Panchu itself. His family originally hails from Kedli village of Nokha and currently lives in Panchu. Martyr Ramswaroop was married to Kaushalya, a resident of Ankhisar, on May 15, 2023. They have no children. Shortly before being shot, Ramswaroop had spoken to his family members and enquired about their well-being.
Hanuman Beniwal also expressed opposition
MP and Jat leader Hanuman Beniwal has also given a statement on the martyrdom of Shaheed Ramswaroop Kaswan. He has tweeted to the Defense Minister saying that the District Sainik Welfare Officer declared the soldier’s death as suicide without a Court of Inquiry. The family of Shaheed Ramswaroop Kaswan should be given all the benefits by the government.
