Jaipur : There is a stir among the employee organizations of the state in Rajasthan regarding the Central Government’s Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). However, the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) is already in force in the state. The employee organizations of the state are evaluating UPS. On Sunday, we talked to many employee organizations of the state about UPS and OPS. The employee organizations said that UPS is better than NPS, but are calling OPS the best for employee interests.

Employee organizations say that in OPS, an employee is entitled to 50 percent of full pension after completing 20 years of service, while in UPS, 50 percent pension will be available after completing 25 years. In OPS, employees do not have to make any contribution, while in UPS, employees will have to make 10 percent contribution.
