Sirohi : a district of Rajasthan where it is being said that there is a possibility of valuable minerals underground. A big survey is being conducted regarding this. If this is proved true then the people here will become rich. In fact, the possibility of having precious metal in the ground has increased in Abu Road area of Sirohi district. For which the Indian Geological Survey is being conducted in this area through helicopter. This survey is being conducted under the Indian Ministry of Mines, in which a total of 10 member team of pilots and engineers including 2 officers of the Central Government are carrying the helicopter. This is a detailed survey, a preliminary survey is also going on in Mehsana, Gujarat. It has started in Abu Road and Sirohi districts from 21st November, which will continue for the next one week. A report of the survey will also be given to the District Collector.
Data quality data will be available from helicopter survey
The department said that Geological Survey of India (GSI) has launched an advanced heliborne time domain electromagnetic (TDEM) and magnetic geophysical survey funded by the National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) of the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. This is a detailed survey of the National Aerial Geophysical Mapping Program (NAGMP) conducted at Block-1. The survey covered 198 sq km area using helicopter mounted advanced TDEM and magnetic sensors at high resolution over 1429 km flight lines. The data will be collected. The survey is conducted at a flight line interval of 150 m and a tie line interval of 1500 m, with sensors operating at a height of 40 m from the ground.
Metals will be discovered through this method
The results of this survey will provide important information about geological structures and mineral potential areas that are not visible at the surface. The TDEM method combined with magnetic data will be helpful in identifying conductive zones associated with valuable mineral deposits such as copper, nickel and gold. The survey will help map the sub-surface geology and mineralization in greater detail, which is often difficult to investigate using conventional magnetic methods.
It is part of a broader initiative to enhance India’s mineral exploration capabilities and contribute to the sustainable development of its mining sector. After completion of the project, this data will be made available in the public domain, which can be accessed by government and private exploration agencies through the National Geology Data Repository (NGDR) portal. The findings of this survey will be used to refine exploration strategies and encourage future resource development projects.
Which metal is hidden under the ground
The Geological Survey of India will conduct similar surveys in the Sirohi block of Rajasthan as well as in the states of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, covering a total area of 3,354 square kilometers in ten different blocks. The department said that after the completion of the survey, this report will be sent to the office of Mineral Department in Calcutta where the investigation will be done on the survey in more than a year. And after that we will be able to know which minerals are there under the ground in this survey.
Aerial survey was conducted in 2017-18
Due to the possibility of mineral presence in the district including Abu Road and surrounding areas, a survey of the entire area has been done by airplane in the year 2017-18, after which some positive results will now be surveyed by helicopter. A total survey of about 1500 kilometers will be conducted in the district, out of which 1000 kilometers have been surveyed.
