The temple was built by Raja Mansingh

The temple was named Jagat Shiromani.

This temple is built on a platform about 20 feet below. The temple has a Toran gate, which is the only one in the world. The idol of Garuda has been installed in front of Lord Krishna. In which there are idols of Radha or Rukmani along with Lord Krishna, but this temple has a specialty that Meerabai is seated here along with Lord Krishna. Secondly, the construction of Garuda Chhatri cost 1.25 lakh rupees. Thirdly, the construction of the temple’s archway cost about 80 thousand rupees.

After this, Raja Man Singh brought the idol of Lord Krishna from Chittor which Meerabai used to worship. Then the idol of Lord Krishna was installed in the Jagat Shiromani temple along with Meerabai. In the whole world, the idol of Meerabai and Krishna will be seen only in the Jagat Shiromani temple. The palanquin in which the idol of Krishna and Meera Bai was brought is also present in the temple. On the occasion of Jaljhulani Ekadashi, even today Lord Krishna is seated in the same palanquin and taken to the nearby lake and given a bath.

The cost of construction of the temple at that time was about 11.70 lakh rupees. Out of which 9.72 lakh rupees were spent on the construction of the temple, 1.25 lakh rupees on the statue of Garuda and 80 thousand rupees on the archway. The main worship places of the temple are the statues of Meera Girdhar Gopal and Vishnu. The huge statue of Garuda, the vehicle of Lord Vishnu, sits in front of the main hall with folded hands.
