There is no electricity in 12 villages of Rajasthan for 4 days, villagers surrounded GSS

Dholpur : A case of arbitrary action by the electricity department has come to light in Dholpur district of Rajasthan. The electricity department has not been supplying electricity to the villages of the district for the last 4 days. Troubled by this, the villagers surrounded the discom officials at Rajaura Khurd GSS on Saturday and protested. Seeing the anger of the villagers, senior officials of the electricity department reached the spot, who pacified the matter by explaining. Along with this, the officials also started electricity supply in all the villages.

A dozen villages are in darkness since 4 days

Rajendra Chand Verma, Superintending Engineer of Electricity Department, said that most of the electricity lines have been damaged due to rain. Poles of 33 and 11 KVA lines have fallen. Transformers have come under the grip of water logging on the GSS system. About 3 feet of water has filled on the Rajaura Khurd GSS system. All the equipment including the transformer have drowned in water and due to this the power supply is getting disrupted. Villagers said that due to no electricity for the last 4 days, a dozen villages including Rajaura Khurd, Kaithari, Gogli, Ghugharai, Math and Dungarwala are immersed in darkness. Officials of the Electricity Department had also stopped receiving calls from the villagers. Due to no electricity for four days, water supply is also not happening.

The superintending engineer started the supply

Former Sarpanch Satish Parmar said that due to non-availability of electricity, people are living in misery. The employees present at the GSS system shrug off the responsibility by saying that there is no supply from above. On Saturday, the villagers’ anger burst out and they gheraoed the GSS office and expressed their displeasure against the officers. Seeing the matter escalating, Superintending Engineer Rajendra Verma reached the spot. The villagers also scolded him. The Superintending Engineer called all the officers of the Discom on the spot and got the power supply started.

GSS system submerged in water

Due to rain, the Rajoura Khurd GSS system has been completely submerged in water. Discom employees are trying to remove water with the help of pump sets, but the water level is not decreasing due to the ground water level being very high. There is a possibility of electric current spreading everywhere. Discom employees are working in fear due to electric current. Employees are working standing on cots in the middle of water.
