There is no race in ‘Mahayuti’, here it is decided once and for all who will become the Chief Minister: Sanjay Shirsat

Mumbai, November 25 (IANS). Even two days after the announcement of the results of Maharashtra Assembly elections, no one’s name has been approved yet for the Chief Minister in the Mahayuti. Sanjay Shirsat, leader of Shiv Sena led by outgoing Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, spoke to IANS on the issue.

When asked whether Eknath Shinde is in the race for Chief Minister or is out of the race, Sanjay Shirsat said that there is no race in ‘Mahayuti’. Here it is decided at once who will be the Chief Minister. Eknath Shinde’s name is at the top today, will remain so tomorrow and the day after tomorrow too. But we will support the one whose name is proposed by the top leadership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will meet and announce the name of the Chief Minister. Whoever’s name is there will get everyone’s support and that person will become the Chief Minister.

On how long Maharashtra will have to wait for the next Chief Minister, Sanjay Shirsat has said that we have got a huge majority from the public. It takes time to reach a good decision. The next CM will be announced by Tuesday evening.

Did you believe that the public would give so many seats in the Maharashtra Assembly elections? On this, Sanjay Shirsat said that it was not expected, but the way the public has given us love, one thing has become clear that among the public, Our work is arriving. Therefore, we have been successful in winning so many seats.

Regarding the role of the opposition, the Shiv Sena leader has said that there will be no leader of the opposition. The opposition has sunk because of ego. In Maha Vikas Aghadi, work has been done to topple each other in the matter of who will become the Chief Minister. Instead of making allegations and counter-allegations, it is better that they should brainstorm because making allegations will not increase their position.

On whether it was a wrong decision for Uddhav Thackeray to join Congress, the Shiv Sena leader has said that it was a completely wrong decision. The public has shown that Shiv Sena should not have gone with Congress. We explained, but he did not understand. What was the result? He himself drowned and other people also drowned.

Posters have been put up outside Matoshree saying that we lost the elections, we will rise again and fight. On this, the Shiv Sena leader has said that these posters have been put up where he himself can see them. Some workers have put up these posters.

Do you think that the slogan given by Modi and Yogi. This had an impact in the Maharashtra elections. On this, the Shiv Sena leader said, “I believe that the effect of ‘Bantenge to Katenge’ and ‘Ek hai to safe hain’ has been seen in the elections.

After Maharashtra elections, the opposition is raising questions on EVMs. On this, the Shiv Sena leader has said that the question that Sanjay Raut is raising is whether he has ever contested elections. Sharad Pawar has spent his entire life in making others contest elections. That’s why he has said that I have no information about this. When the opposition got a good number of seats during the Lok Sabha elections, why were questions not raised on EVMs?

Do you think that Sharad Pawar should now retire from politics, on this the Shiv Sena leader has said that he is a senior leader and he has to take this decision. But I think now all the responsibility of the party should be given to Ajit Pawar.

What impact has ‘Ladli Behan Yojana’ had on the elections? On this, Shiv Sena leader has said that the scheme has had a lot of impact. Women were very happy with this plan and they wanted the ‘Mahayuti’ government to remain in Maharashtra.
