Banswara : A constable was injured when villagers pelted stones at police in Rajasthan’s Banswara. The villagers were protesting against the construction of boundary wall of the proposed nuclear power plant in Banswara when police tried to disperse them. The villagers turned furious after this and pelted stones at the police team. A constable was injured in the incident. Banswara Superintendent of Police Harshvardhan Agarwal told news agency PTI that tear gas shells were fired to control the situation at the central government project site in Chhoti Sarwan area.
There is a dispute regarding land acquisition
Police said some families, whose land has been acquired for the proposed plant, are protesting. Though they have been allotted alternate land, they have not yet shifted to the land allotted to them demanding setting up of a hospital in the area, police said.

According to PTI, on Friday, villagers had gathered and were protesting against the construction of a boundary wall. Police said that during the protest, they started pelting stones, in which a constable was injured and he was admitted to the district hospital. They had to use force to control the situation. The SP said that additional policemen have been deployed in the area and the situation is under control.
