Sirohi : near Reliance Petrol Pump on Pindwara-Beawar Four Lane Highway 62 under Police Station Paldi M, at 6 am on Monday, a trolley driver hit the car of the groom going from Akrabhatta (Abu Road) to Rani (Pali) from behind. In the accident, the car fell into a drain about 15 feet deep. Five people, including the groom, were injured in the accident, while the groom’s ten-year-old cousin died. After the accident the trolley driver fled from the spot. Station Officer Police Sub Inspector Hukamsingh Bhati said that the applicant Rajesh Kumar, son of Ramlal Banjara, resident of Akarabhatta, Abu Road, reported that due to the collision with the trolley, the car fell into a fifteen feet deep pit, due to which its doors got jammed. Some people living in a nearby house took everyone including the groom out of the car and informed his friends. As soon as the information was received, other wedding procession members also returned and reached the spot.
On receiving information about the accident, Assistant Sub Inspector Somaram Meena along with police constable Jitendrapal reached the spot and took all the injured to Sirohi District Hospital for treatment. The groom’s cousin brother Anant (10), son of Mukesh Banjara, died in the accident. The groom Akash Banjara as well as Mukesh Banjara, Aanchal, Varsha, Sachin and Chetan who were traveling in the car were seriously injured. The body of deceased Anant was examined and handed over to his family members. The police station officer said that Mukesh, Sachin and Chetan, who were injured in the accident, were referred to the Higher Center as their condition became serious, while the treatment of Varsha and Aanchal is continuing in Sirohi Hospital.
Six people including the groom were sent to the bride’s house.
After the death of the groom’s brother in a road accident, in a sad atmosphere, the groom Akash Banjara’s marriage procession along with 6 members of his family left for Pali in Rani district for the wedding. While all the wedding guests in the bus returned home.
