Bikaner : Preparations have been started for Bikaner International Camel Festival 2025. This time also many types of innovations will be made during the program. Cultural Night will be organized in Junagadh campus. In this regard, a meeting was organized in the Collectorate Auditorium on Monday. In the meeting, it was proposed to organize the International Camel Festival from 9 to 12 January. During the meeting, Additional District Collector (Administration) Dr. Dulichand Meena, Additional District Collector (City) Ramesh Dev, CEO Zilla Parishad Sohanlal and tourism department officials discussed in detail the outline of the festival. In the meeting, Additional District Collector Dr. Meena said that Bikaner is getting a new identity in global tourism through the festival. Local art and culture will be linked to this event. Aspects related to traditional costumes and food should also be included in it. ADM City Ramesh Dev said that various cultural organizations of Bikaner should be partnered in organizing this festival. Include new activities so that local artists can also get a platform here.
Main event on 11th and 12th
Deputy Director Tourism Anil Rathod said that the main event of the International Camel Festival will be held on 11 and 12 January. Various activities will be organized at NRCC on January 11, the first day of the main event. There will be various events including camel dance, fur cutting, camel decoration, camel race, horse race. On the same day, a procession will be taken out from Junagadh to Karni Singh Stadium, in which local folk artists will be part of the procession on decorated camels. NCC, NSS cadets and other participants will participate in it. On the same day, traditional costume based show Miss Bikaner and Dhola Marwan competitions will be organized at Dr. Karni Singh Stadium. At night, attractive performances by folk artists will be given in the cultural evening at Dr. Karni Singh Stadium.
There will be splendor of programs even in Dhors
On January 12, the main event will be held at Raisar, where rural games and various competitions will be the center of attraction. Under this, activities like turban tying, wrestling, kabaddi, kho-kho, tying of turban for domestic and foreign tourists, matka race etc. are included. Events like sand art handicraft, mehndi rangoli competition will be held in these dhors only. Besides, Camel Safari will also be organized here. Folk Night organized at night in Raiser’s Dhors. Besides, the famous fire dance of Jasnathji sect will be presented. In the meeting, a proposal was given by the representatives of Hotel Federation of Rajasthan to organize a cultural night in Junagadh premises. This event will be held as a cultural night on 9th and 10th January. In which local traditional costumes, jewelery based fashion show and local cuisine based stalls etc. will be displayed.
