Jaisalmer : The command of the municipal body in Jaisalmer has now been handed over to the Administrator. Jaisalmer’s ADM has been appointed administrator till the upcoming elections of the municipal body. After the order was issued, ADM Munniram Bagadia has taken additional charge as an administrator in the municipal body. It is noteworthy that only administrators will work in the municipal bodies till the upcoming elections. In Municipal Council Jaisalmer, now the decision will be taken by the Administrator instead of the Board. On which the Commissioner and other employees of the City Council will work.
There are many benefits of being appointed as an administrator. Administrator Munniram Bagadia said – If earlier the councilor in any ward was not getting the work done for any resident, then now the path to the city council has been directly opened for them. With this, now for any work of the Municipal Council, the decision of the Administrator instead of the Board will be final. For various works, now the Commissioner will have to take permission from the Administrator instead of the Board. With this, all the work will be done continuously and the public will not face any kind of problem.
Ward 45 will remain the same, there will be no change
Regarding the delimitation and demarcation of the city, Administrator and ADM Munniram Bagadia said – DLB has approved the delimitation. But Ward 45 will remain in Jaisalmer only. Even before the last elections, 45 wards were created by delimiting 35 wards. Therefore, this time also ward 45 will remain the same. There will be no change in this. However, work like demarcation of wards etc. can be done. The huge gap regarding the number of voters in the wards will now be reduced. There is complete inequality in the wards of the Municipal Council. In some wards there are around 300 voters and in some there are more than 1200. In such a situation, while demarcating the wards, efforts will be made to keep the area and number of voters in almost all the wards the same.
Elections postponed for 4 months
The Autonomous Government Department has issued orders for delimitation and demarcation and has made a time frame. In which the approval of the wards and the objections received will be resolved by March 1. In such a situation, elections will be conducted only after the delimitation and demarcation of wards. Till then an administrator will be appointed to handle the city council. This post of administrator will be as effective as the entire board.
ADM is retiring on 30th November
After the order of the state government, ADM Munniram Bagadia was given the charge of administrator of the Municipal Council but he is retiring from his post on 30th November. In such a situation, after his retirement after 3 days, the post of Administrator will once again become vacant. In such a situation, Zilla Parishad CEO Sunita Chaudhary can be given the charge of Municipal Council Administrator.
After UIT, now the city council is also with the administration
There has been no announcement regarding the post of UIT President in Jaisalmer for the last 7 years. In such a situation, the chairman in UIT is the collector. Now, in case elections are not held till March, the responsibility of the Municipal Council will remain with the ADM.
