Udaipur : Rajasthan may have progressed a lot in terms of education and development, but even today such a practice is being followed in many areas which may sound very strange to you. There is a tradition in Rajasthan itself where if a girl does not have a child, she finds another partner. Not only this, here it is not the family members who find the boy for the girl, but the girl herself.
This practice in Sirohi, Dungarpur, Udaipur, Banswara and Pali
This happens in Garsia tribe in Rajasthan. Who live in the hilly areas of Sirohi, Dungarpur, Udaipur, Banswara and Pali districts of Rajasthan. In this tribe, women and girls have the right to live life as per their own wish. The girl herself decides with whom she will share her life.
First living together and then trying to have a child while bachelor
Family members cannot interfere in this matter. Not only this, both of them used to live in live-in relationship. And only when both of them give birth to a child, they get married. If the girl wants to change her partner before this, she can change her partner.
Boys and girls choose their partners by going to the fair.
A fair is organized to select this partner. In which boys and girls of this tribe come. Here, after liking each other, they go to live together. After this, if the girl wants to stay with the partner selected in the fair, she can stay or she can go back to the fair and change her partner. The biggest condition for marriage in this tribe is that there should be a live-in child before marriage.
This tradition of Garsia tribe is very strange
Even though this very strange tradition is being followed in the Garsia tribe, yet there is no dispute of any kind between the boy and the girl here. After the girl chooses another partner, the first boy does not bother her in any way.
