Bharatpur : Diphtheria disease has started spreading rapidly in the villages of Deeg district, causing serious crisis among children. Recently, 8 children including a girl child have died due to this disease, which has created panic among the health department officials. Teams from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Health Department of Jaipur immediately reached the affected villages, where children have died.

Be careful if these symptoms are coming in children

Many children like Shezan and his elder brother Faizan, residents of village Dundawal, have been affected by diphtheria. Shezaan died during treatment at SMS Hospital in Jaipur, while Faizan is undergoing treatment. Diphtheria causes serious problems like swelling in the throat, fever and cough in children.

Due to this the situation is becoming dire

The team has started door-to-door vaccination campaign by visiting villages. WHO Regional Coordinator Sunil Yadav said that this disease usually occurs in children between 0 to 16 years. He also said that this disease can be prevented only by regular vaccination, but there is lack of awareness about the vaccine in some families, which is making the situation worse.

People creating problems in vaccination campaign

However, during vaccination, many children tried to run away from school, which hampered the vaccination campaign. The health department team held a meeting to discuss the problem, stressing the seriousness of diphtheria cases and the importance of vaccination.

Health Department made this appeal to all parents

Officials believe that if awareness is increased in villages and all children are vaccinated, the spread of this serious disease can be controlled. The Health Department has appealed to all parents to get their children vaccinated on time, so that their lives can be saved.
