Lok Sabha Speaker Birla was constantly trying for the airport
Kota is soon going to get the gift of a Greenfield Airport. The Rajasthan government has announced the construction of a Greenfield Airport in its first full budget. While presenting the budget, the state’s Finance Minister and Deputy CM Diya Kumari has given many gifts to Kota including Greenfield. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was continuously making efforts regarding Kota Airport. He had promised the people during the elections that as soon as the double engine government is formed, he will start the work of Kota’s Greenfield Airport.
Construction of airport in Kota is necessary for development
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla recently held a review meeting with Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu and Airport Authority of India officials regarding Kota Greenfield Airport in his chamber in Parliament House. In the meeting, Birla had said that construction of an airport in Kota is necessary for the development of the entire Hadoti region. The state government is rapidly removing obstacles in this regard. The formalities should be completed at the central government level soon and work should be done in coordination with the state government so that the construction of the airport can start soon.
The MoU will be signed next month
Civil Aviation Minister Naidu said that the ministry is taking the work of Kota Green Field Airport very seriously. The MoU between the Airport Authority of India and the state government will be signed next month. AAI officials were asked to work fast and prepare the DPR of the airport as soon as possible. Apart from this, instructions were given to complete the process of obtaining NOC from other departments including environmental clearance from the Ministry of Forest and Environment along with the preparation of DPR.
Kota airport will become operational in two years
He said that after the DPR is prepared and NOC is received from all the departments, the tender process will be completed in a fixed period. The aim of the Airport Authority will be to complete the work within two years of the start of construction work and make Kota Airport operational.
