This farmer of Rajasthan is earning lakhs by cultivating African marigold flowers, know more

Bharatpur : Farmers of our country are now strengthening their financial condition by earning a good income by growing commercial crops instead of traditional farming. Farmers are no longer limited to just vegetables and wheat. They are earning well by cultivating different types of flowers. An example of this is given by a farmer from Bhusavar town of the district. He has left traditional farming and earned lakhs of rupees by cultivating African marigold. Due to good yield and income, the nearby farmers are also inspired by this farmer and are now engaged in farming this crop.

Cultivation of African marigold changed the fortunes of farmers

Farmer Yad Ram Saini, who is cultivating African marigold, said that he was doing traditional farming for many years but due to lack of much profit, the financial condition of his house was not good. Daughter Chhabi saw about African marigold cultivation online and she told me about it. She also told me about the profit from farming. Listening to my daughter, I ordered 2 kg of African marigold seeds for 45 thousand rupees from her online site. After this, I sowed and prepared their saplings. After this, I started cultivating marigold by planting saplings in 1 hectare. After about 70 days, the flowers started blooming. In this farming, the yield of fresh flowers is 200 kg per hectare at a time.

You get a profit of about 2 lakh rupees

At present, the price of African marigold in the market is Rs 100 per kg. Flowers worth Rs 3 lakh have been sold in one hectare. Many times traders take African marigold flowers directly from the field. So far, after deducting the cost of labour from this crop, a profit of about Rs 2 lakh has been made. Seeing this profit, the nearby farmers are also now thinking of cultivating African marigold.
