Jaipur : To reduce road accidents and deaths in them, a 10-year road safety plan is being made in the state, which aims to reduce road accidents by 50 percent by 2030 in the state. It will be the first state in the country to make such a plan. In this road safety plan, technology and data will be used together, through which the causes of road accidents will be identified and solutions to the causes of accidents will be found accordingly.
Smartness to reduce road accidents
Use of technology: Road Accident Database (iRED) – Road accident data will be recorded online through iRED software, which will help in knowing the causes of road accidents.
Public awareness and ground level changes: People will be made aware about road safety and practical changes will be made in the rules.
Coordination between departments: This plan will increase coordination between the transport, public works, health and forest departments. Also, the provisions related to traffic signals will be improved.
