Jaipur : The state government has speeded up the work to finalize the new mining policy being brought to speed up mineral exploration and production in Rajasthan, which is at third place in mineral production in the country. The last date for proposals sought from the general public on the proposed draft of the new mining policy also ended on Sunday.
Mining related organizations have submitted memorandums regarding changes in the new mining policy and adding some new provisions. In this, there is a demand to create mining zones in the state and give it the status of industry. Rajasthan government had recently announced to bring a new mining policy in the budget and to promote it by changing the M-Send policy. Principal Secretary Mines T. Ravikant had discussed this with the mine operators and representatives of the mining association a day earlier.
