Bhilwara : call it the miracle of nature or the result of tampering with nature. Whatever the reason, this time the Khari river has become a boon for the farmers by flowing in the opposite direction for four kilometers. It sounds strange. The truth is that the Khari river passing through the border of Bhilwara-Ajmer district is moving in the opposite direction this time. Due to this, the water sources of the area have been recharged and there has been adequate arrangement of drinking water along with irrigation. The river flowing in the opposite direction has become a curiosity for the villagers. The major reason for this has been the gravel mafia. The original form of the river has been spoiled due to indiscriminate illegal gravel exploitation. Actually, the origin of the Khari river is from Rajsamand district. Flowing from there, it passes through Aasind, Gulabpura, crossing the famous pilgrimage site of the region Dhaneshwar Dham, and meets the Banas river through Shahpura district. Revenue village Khati Kheda of Hurda area is on the bank of Khari river. An anicut has been built in the river adjacent to the village. A rainy stream from Nagar village of Ajmer district also falls into this anicut. From here, the Khari river flows towards the east and goes to Dhaneshwar Dham.
Did not proceed further than Anicut, coincidence after thirty years
For the last two days, the river is not flowing beyond the anicut but in the opposite direction, i.e. towards the west. The river flowing in the reverse direction reached the raw anicut near Mokshadham Ghat of Hurda after flowing four kilometers from Khati Khedi. This recharged the water sources of the entire Seja area. This coincidence was seen after thirty years when the river is flowing in the reverse direction despite there being no so much rain.
The original surface is lowered and slopes in the opposite direction
The villagers believe that this miracle is due to interference with nature. Due to lack of water in the river, the gravel mafia dug it up and extracted gravel to such an extent that the original level of the river went down and the slope of the river turned in the opposite direction. Due to this, the river is currently flowing in the opposite direction.
The hand of the gravel mafia
The gravel mafia has a big hand in ruining the shape of the river. The nature of water is such that wherever there are pits, water moves towards the low level. Sand particles are necessary in rivers.
