Dausa : the state government has announced the promotion of Lalsot Nagarpalika to Nagar Parishad in its first full budget. It is being considered as a big gift of the BJP government for the city, it is being discussed that now many nearby Gram Panchayats can join the Nagar Parishad, which will expand urban facilities and there will be ample budget for development. After the announcement of Nagar Parishad, people of the surrounding villages settled in the peripheral area including the city are also happy. According to the information, Lalsot city got the gift of Nagarpalika in 1975 and for the last 49 years, Lalsot Nagar Palika had D category status. Due to this, the development of the city could not get the pace as per the expectations of the people due to the limited resources and limited budget of the Palika, now the Rajasthan government has upgraded the Palika to Nagar Parishad with the efforts of MLA Rambilas Meena. There should be a population of upto one lakh for a Municipal Council, for which discussions regarding inclusion of nearby villages in the Municipal Council are gaining momentum in the last few days.
With the formation of Nagar Parishad, the budget received from the state and centre will also increase manifold. This will establish new dimensions of development in the city. With the formation of Nagar Parishad, many posts of officers will be created and people’s work will be done at a faster pace. With the increase in wards, the number of sanitation workers will increase. A fire station will be established.
These gram panchayats can be included
At present, the population of Shahpura Nagarpalika is about 50 thousand, which is considered less for a Nagar Parishad. To complete the population figure, many Gram Panchayats including Rajauli, Indawa, Chandsen and Lalpura bordering the municipal area can be included.
People of the Gram Panchayats joining the Nagar Parishad will be able to get urban facilities. They will not have to struggle for facilities like cleanliness, drinking water, electricity, roads etc. On joining the Nagar Parishad, people will get many facilities including 24 hour electricity, water, light, cleanliness, budget for development.
Chairman Pinky Chaturvedi said that for a Nagar Parishad, the population should be between 50 thousand to 1 lakh. With the upgradation of Nagar Palika to Nagar Parishad, the periphery area will expand, the areas which were left out of the periphery till now will be included,
Action will be taken as per rules regarding inclusion of Gram Panchayats. After formation of Nagar Parishad, there will be ample budget, instead of EO, commissioner will be appointed who will have more powers and for town planning also many facilities will be increased including increase of senior officers and other staff and construction of fire station.
