Mumbai, November 27 (IANS). Republican Party of India (Athawale) President and Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale spoke to IANS on various issues on Wednesday. Regarding the results of Maharashtra elections, he said that this time the voters rejected the negative campaign.
The Union Minister said, “Today a meeting of the National Committee of the Republican Party of India (Athawale) was held in Maharashtra Sadan, in which presidents and representatives of 30 states were present. The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen various state units of the party and to unite people of different castes and religions across the country. For this, representatives of all the states stressed the need to work unitedly.
He said that the recently held assembly elections in Maharashtra were also discussed in the meeting. The Congress, Rahul Gandhi and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT), including the Nationalist Congress Party (SP), had carried out negative campaigning and tried to mislead people. However, “this time the public did not pay attention to his words” and they were voting in our favor.
Ramdas Athawale said that it was also expressed in the meeting on behalf of the people of Maharashtra that the people who voted in 2019 should be recognized as slum dwellers and if the government takes over that place then their Rehabilitation work should be done. Apart from this, a demand was also made to give land to landless people living in villages.
He said that the issue of unemployment was also discussed in the meeting. It was felt that there is a need to promote industries and industrial development, so that more employment opportunities can be generated. Apart from this, some political controversies of Maharashtra were also discussed. Especially under the leadership of Eknath Shinde, a lot of good work has been done in Maharashtra. He has always been active for the development of the state. The assembly elections were fought under his leadership, and due to his hard work we got success. The BJP currently has 132 MLAs, and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has 57 seats, while the NCP has 41 seats.
He said, “It was told in the meeting that the three prominent leaders are going to meet Amit Shah in Delhi. Their aim is to resolve this small dispute and after this the post of Chief Minister will become clear. BJP had already made it clear that Devendra Fadnavis would be made the Chief Minister, but Shinde says that he should get the post of Chief Minister for some time. On this Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and J.P. The decision will be taken on the advice of Nadda. Everyone in the meeting expressed confidence that this deadlock will be resolved soon, and the issue of the Chief Minister’s post will be resolved in a day or two.”
