Jaipur : Now a ban has been imposed on fireworks at any time on Diwali, Chhath, Christmas and New Year. Keeping in mind the decision of the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal, new guidelines have been issued. According to these, only green fireworks will be allowed to be sold and used in the entire Rajasthan except the NCR region.
Fireworks can be done for only 2 hours
According to Chittorgarh District Magistrate Alok Ranjan, green fireworks will be allowed only between 8 pm to 10 pm on Diwali, Guru Parv and other festivals, between 6 am to 8 am on Chhath festival, and between 11.55 pm to 12.30 am on Christmas and New Year. Not only this, if the air quality index in your city is ‘Poor’ or worse on the day of the festival, then no one will be allowed to do fireworks on that day.

DM Ranjan has ordered all the executive magistrates of the district, all police officers of the rank not lower than Assistant Sub-Inspector, all officers of Municipal Corporation/Council/Board of the rank not lower than Revenue Inspector, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad and all Block Development Officers to ensure compliance of these guidelines issued by the Rajasthan Government in the area. He has said that action will be taken against those who do not follow this order by registering a case under Explosives Rules, 2008.
Licenses will be issued for 30 days
The DM said that QR codes issued by NEERI will be mandatory on each fireworks box to identify green fireworks. Currently, in view of the festival of Diwali, the work of issuing temporary licenses for green crackers has been started. The concerned subdivision magistrate will issue temporary licenses for only green crackers for a maximum of 30 days (from 05.10.2024 to 03.11.2024) as per the rules.
Documents required for cracker license
Applicants will have to submit four copies of the blue print of the place proposed for sale along with the application form in the prescribed format to the concerned subdivision office. Also, the status of the proposed place and the surrounding commercial place will have to be clearly mentioned. Three latest photographs of the applicant and a certified photocopy of identity related documents will have to be submitted along with the application. A certified photocopy of the document related to the ownership of the place will have to be submitted.
