Prayagraj, 8 December (IANS). Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reached Prayagraj on Sunday. Here he took stock of the ongoing Kumbh preparations at Prayagraj station. After this he gave detailed information to the journalists.
The Railway Minister said, “Today I took stock of the preparations for Mahakumbh at Prayagraj Railway Station. Railway officials, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, have made large-scale preparations for the Mahakumbh under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the last two and a half years. During this period, approximately five thousand crore rupees have been invested in various works related to Maha Kumbh, and these preparations have also been reviewed regularly.
“Additionally, coordination has been maintained with all concerned departments so that whatever work is pending can be completed expeditiously,” he said. This time, a large number of devotees are likely to come to the Mahakumbh, in view of which the state government has made detailed preparations. Railways has also given its full cooperation in this process. Railways will run three thousand special trains this time. Apart from this, about 10 thousand regular trains have also been organized, which will provide convenience to the devotees in their travel. Overall, this time 13 thousand trains have been arranged for Maha Kumbh, which is much more than the previous Kumbh.”
He said, “Apart from this, it has also been ensured that all the trains are sent to Prayagraj with complete safety and caution. Additional special arrangements have been made to ensure that there are no engine related problems. Notably, some trains have been brought here completely prepared, and even regular trains have engines installed on both sides so that no train has to make repeated reversals.”
He said, “During this Kumbh, track doubling work has also been completed between Prayagraj and Varanasi. Under this project, a new bridge has also been built on river Ganga after 100 years. As a result, the capacity of the railways has increased significantly. While seven thousand trains were run in the last Kumbh, this time around 13 thousand trains will be run, which is double the number. In this way, preparations for Mahakumbh have been done on a very large scale and this time the devotees are not going to face any kind of problem in the journey.”
