Jaipur : Sijara festival will be celebrated in Ganesh temples of the city on Friday on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi. Lord Ganpati will be specially decorated and made to wear new clothes. After offering jaggery and laddoos etc., drums and mehndi will be offered. Special lighting and decorations were done on the lines of Mumbai in other Ganesh temples including Motidungri, Nahar’s Ganesh, Garh Ganesh, Chandpol Parkota Ganesh and Bengali Baba Ganesh temple. Sijara will be sent from the maternal side of the children and from the aunt’s house. Clothes, toys, drums, jaggery will be sent in these. On Ganesh Chaturthi on Saturday, Ganpati Bapa will be installed in homes, various societies and apartments along with special prayers. There will be many opportunities throughout the day for purchasing vehicles, property jewellery and other auspicious works. Worship will also be done by the Municipal Corporation and social organizations at various Ganesh poles of Parkota.
Special event at Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple
Mehndi Pujan will be held on Friday. Mahant Kailash Sharma said that Lambodar will be specially decorated traditionally by the Mahant family. He will be made to wear a special Gota Patti dress. The decoration will be Nauladi’s Naulakha Dwar. Pearls, gold, emeralds, rubies etc. will be depicted in the necklace. Lord will be seated on a silver throne wearing a golden crown. Mehndi will be applied along with the special dress. 3100 kg of Mehndi will be distributed to the devotees from 7:30 pm. After Bhakti Sandhya, Shayan Aarti will be held at 10 pm. The oldest and famous belief of Moti Dungri Ganesh temple is that if there is a wedding anywhere in Rajasthan, people first come here to invite Lord Ganesh. Giving this invitation has special significance. It is believed that Lord Ganesh comes to that family and completes all the wedding rituals auspiciously. In Garh Ganesh temple, Ganpati will be decorated with Panchamrit Abhishek and Pushpamala at 4 am on September 7. Mahant Pradeep Audhichya said that Lord Ganapati does not wear clothes on this day. Lord Ganapati is seated in the child form in the temple. Mangala Aarti will be held at five o’clock. Sahastra Durvachan and Modak will be offered. Shayan Aarti will be held at 12 midnight.
There will be special Shringar Darshan at the Canal Ganesh Temple in Badhapuri from 5 pm on Friday. Mahant Pt. Jai Sharma said that Lord Ganesh will be dressed in a Lahariya dress and a turban and a tableau of innumerable Modaks will be decorated. After the Mehndi Pooja, Mehndi and Sindoor will be distributed among the devotees. A Durva tableau was decorated at the Parkota Ganesh Temple in Chandpole. Pt. Amit Sharma said that Ganesh Ji’s daughters will apply Mehndi. 101 kg of Mehndi will be distributed.
