Banswara : The condition of health system in tribal district Banswara is very bad. On the other hand, 83 percent of the laboratories in the district are being operated fraudulently. In these labs, patients are being looted in the name of testing. This complete revelation has come to light in the surprise inspection conducted by the Chief Medical and Health Officer. If departmental sources are to be believed, only about 30 labs are registered in the district. Whereas, 178 labs are operating in the district. Thousands of patients are examined every day in these labs. Clearly, by flouting the rules of the health department, these lab operators are also playing with the health of the common people.
Department is not showing strictness, lab operators are also acting arbitrarily
Whereas many lab operators, despite having registration, are not renewing it and many have not even processed the application. The problems of the patients are sure to increase due to irregularities in these labs which claim to conduct medical tests and detect serious diseases. In fact, for the operation of any lab, a doctor’s certificate is required. Also, there should be a doctor and technician in the lab. It is necessary to have.
Machines are present, but samples are sent to other labs for testing.
According to Banswara CMHO Dr. HL Tabiyar, many lab operators are charging arbitrary prices just by collecting samples. They have machines available for testing for show, but the samples coming here are sent to Udaipur or any other lab and get tested. These lab operators are charging huge fees even for simple medical tests.
