Jhunjhunu : If courage is high then success also flies. The daughters of Shekhawati have made this true. Mohana Singh, a resident of small village Papra in Jhunjhunu district, Priya Sharma, a resident of Ghoomansar from Pilani in Jhunjhunu district and Pratibha Poonia of Narwasi, Sadulpur tehsil of Churu district, are the daughters of Shekhawati who have flown fighter planes in the country. All three had the passion to do something for the country since childhood. Today the whole country is proud of them.
She used to fly paper planes and say that one day she will fly a plane in the sky herself.
The first female pilot of Rajasthan, Mohana Singh, a resident of Dhani Jitarwala of Papra in Jhunjhunu district, used to make paper planes and fly them in her childhood and used to say that one day she will fly the plane independently in the sky. After studying engineering, Mohana Singh appeared for the exam several times to fulfill her goal but failed. Worked in a private company for a few years. But the passion to achieve the goal did not end. Finally, on June 18, 2016, she became the first fighter plane pilot along with Bhavana Kanth and Avni Chaturvedi. Squadron Leader Mohana Singh, who flew MiG 21, has now become the first woman fighter pilot to fly Tejas.
When she was scolded for losing her shoes, she said: I will bring the shoes by plane.
Pratibha Poonia of Churu district is the second woman pilot from Shekhawati to fly fighter aircraft in the Air Force. Presently he is posted in Nal of Bikaner. Pratibha’s father Chhotu Ram Poonia, a former soldier, is currently working in the Excise Police in Sardar city. He told that when Pratibha was 4-5 years old, a plane had crashed near the village. When Pratibha went to see the plane with the villagers, the shoe of one of her feet fell somewhere. When she got scolded by her mother on coming home, she told her not to worry, I will bring back the lost shoe by aeroplane. Actually, Pratibha dreamed of flying in the sky since childhood. She joined NCC in college and learned horse riding. She does not get disheartened after seeing the strange situation in front of her, but fights against it and moves ahead.

Priya Sharma, born in Ghumansar Kala, is posted as Flight Lieutenant in the Indian Air Force. Presently Priya is monitoring the Indian border while posted in Bikaner. Priya’s father Manoj Sharma is also in the Indian Air Force. In her childhood, when she saw her father flying fighter planes, she too had this desire. That’s why she also decided that when she grows up, she will fly fighter planes like her father.
