Since being added to the list of intangible cultural heritages in need of urgent protection in 2009, these three heritage projects have achieved remarkable results in conservation.
The ‘traditional spinning, dyeing, weaving and embroidery skills of the Li ethnic group’ have provided employment and increased income to people of the local Li ethnic group, especially women, through the establishment of cooperatives and enterprises.
‘Chhyang Jati’s New Year’ has played an important role in preserving the traditional culture of Chhyang Jati and enhancing the development of local cultural eco-tourism and rural tourism.
The preservation and inheritance of ‘Traditional Chinese Wooden Arch Bridge Construction Techniques’ has formed a good trend of intangible cultural heritage projects and integrated protection of culture and natural ecology.
Let us tell you that this is the first time that the transfer process has been officially implemented under the framework of the listing mechanism of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
