Jaipur : Rajasthan is being called Baghistan because of the increasing population of tigers and tigresses in the state. The number of tigers is continuously increasing in the state. The number of tigers is being said to be 133, which is the highest till now. While last year this number was just 120. The forest department says that this time apart from Ranthambore, good news has been received from Sariska as well. 13 cubs have been born in just six months. Many countries including Europe, America, Australia, Pakistan do not have the subspecies of Royal Bengal Tiger which is found here. That is why we have dominance all over the world.

Shortage of prey: There is a shortage of food in Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve and Dholpur-Sarmathura-Karauli Tiger Reserve. There is a need to make small ponds here so that rain water can be collected. Need for breed improvement: Only tigers and tigresses have been sent to all the tiger reserves of the state from Ranbhambhor National Park. Due to which the risk of inbreeding is increasing in these tigers. Most of the tigresses are of the fish family. To stop inbreeding, there is a need to send tigers from other states including Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
