TMC is against Waqf Amendment Bill: Kunal Ghosh

Kolkata, 25 November (IANS). Trinamool Congress Party leader Kunal Ghosh, while speaking to IANS on Monday, expressed his views on the Waqf Amendment Bill.

The central government is trying to bring the Waqf Amendment Bill, while the TMC government of West Bengal is against it. Regarding this, the TMC leader said that under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, our party talks about complete development. We say that everyone should get food, clothing and shelter. At the same time, Bharatiya Janata Party does discriminatory politics in the name of religion.

He said that our senior leader Kalyan Banerjee opposed this bill and also made our party’s stand clear in detail. Therefore, our party is opposing the bill that BJP is bringing regarding Waqf and we have decided our stand. We do not support the mentality with which they are bringing this policy in the name of religion.

The TMC leader said that this issue is a problem and BJP is provoking it. It is important to tell people what their intention is behind this.
