Jaipur : Sirmaur Rajasthan will now move faster in the production of cheap electricity. Four big solar parks are being developed in the state, which will produce 1250 crore units of cheap electricity every year. These projects of 7375 MW capacity will bring about Rs 5 thousand crores to the government’s coffers. This amount will come through land lease, GST, RRDF.
The special thing is that all these projects have the main participation of the power companies of Rajasthan. Central government undertakings and private companies will invest in these. According to subject experts, this will see a big change in the next few years. However, the government will have to ensure that the state also gets cheap electricity from this. Because till now only one 810 MW solar park has opened the way for the state to get cheap electricity.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal’s focus
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is continuously working to promote renewable energy. Officials of the Energy Department and power companies have been told to focus on providing cheap electricity to the public. For this, not only increase the production of renewable energy (solar and wind energy) but also make an action plan on how to increase the supply of this cheap electricity in the state.
Joint venture with Adani in two projects
Two more solar park projects will be set up in the state. The state government will also have participation in both the projects of 2-2 thousand MW. One project will be set up in Mohangarh of Jaisalmer and the other in Jalore.

Even though Rajasthan has become a solar hub, the reality is that the solar energy production here is about 22 thousand MW and the people of the state are getting only 23 percent cheap electricity. Companies are selling the remaining electricity in other states. For this, it can be ensured that the state gets some share of electricity from whichever company approves the solar park. This will reduce the chances of purchasing expensive electricity and power cuts.
