Jaipur : Rajasthan’s folk festival Nag Panchami Shravan Krishna Paksha Panchami is being celebrated today. On this occasion, many measures are being taken to get rid of Kaal Sarp Dosh. Along with Shiva worship, women will worship the snake god for the wish of unbroken good fortune and happiness of the family. They will make the figure of a snake and a serpent on the wall and offer milk, pudding, pakodas, puris. Vasuki Nag and Sheshnag will be worshipped in Shiva temples. Rudrabhishek will be organized in Shiva temples. The story of Nag Panchami will be heard. Those people who have Kaal Sarp Yog in their horoscope should do Jalabhishek of Bholenath and offer pairs of snakes made of silver on Shivling. To get rid of Kaal Sarp, worship the pairs of snakes and serpents, feed them milk and leave them in the forests of Galta and Chulgiri. By doing this, Kaal Sarp Dosh will be cured.

Astrologer Pandit Damodar Prasad Sharma said that for those who have Rahu Dosh and Kaal Sarp Dosh in their horoscope, the day of Naag Panchami is the best day to get rid of them. On Naag Panchami, perform the worship of Kaal Sarp Dosh and offer silver Naag and Naagin to Shivalinga.

After worshipping, leave the serpent god in the forest

Alok Agrawal said that snakes will be released in the jungle after worshipping the snake god near Srinivas Balaji at Galta Gate. 45 years ago his ancestors used to worship the snake god inside the boundary wall. This tradition is being followed since then. During this time snakes of Paramnath, Dumbhi and other species will be released in the jungle.

Don’t do this work even by mistake

It is said in the Puranas that the serpent god is the lord of the underworld. Therefore, one should avoid digging the land on the day of Nag Panchami or any other Panchami. Because doing so on this day is considered a sin. If a snake dies during digging on this day, it is inauspicious.
