Bikaner : On the second Monday of Sawan, the month of worship of Lord Shiva, there will be rounds of Rudrabhishek and worship in Shiva temples. The sequence of Abhishek, worship, decoration and Aarti of Lord Shiva starting early in the morning in the temples will continue till night. During this, Shiva devotees will perform Rudrabhishek of Bholenath with various substances including water, Ganga water, milk, curd, sugar, honey, Panchamrit, ghee, sugarcane juice, Vijaya. Lord Shiva will be decorated with Aak, Dhatura and various types of flowers. Many Shiva temples have been decorated with colorful lights for Sawan Monday. In view of the large number of devotees coming for darshan and worship on Sawan Monday, strong arrangements have been made in the temples.
Sale of milk, curd and flower garlands
The markets were bustling on Sunday due to Sawan Monday. The sale of milk, curd, flower garlands, Bilva leaves, sweets for Prasad etc. continued till late night for the Abhishek-Pujan of Mahadev in Shiva temples and homes on Monday. There was a crowd of buyers at the shops. At the same time, shopping for worship material, perfume, seasonal fruits etc. also continued.
Ongoing rituals of Parthiv Shivling
During the month of Saavan, rituals of making, worshipping and consecrating 1.25 lakh earthen Shivlingas are being conducted at various places in the city. Every day, Shiv devotees are making earthen Shivlingas from clay and worshipping and consecrating them collectively. Bhajans, kirtans, hymns and chanting of mantras are being organized at the ritual sites. Every day, more than 4100 earthen Shivlingas are being made, worshipped and consecrated at the ritual sites.
