Jaipur News Desk: The five-day festival of lights, which runs from Dhanteras to Bhai Dooj, is starting from Tuesday. This festival of excitement and enthusiasm holds special significance for shopping mainly during the auspicious time. This Dhanteras too, buying and selling worth thousands of crores of rupees is expected across the country. Markets across the country have been decorated. As usual, huge crowd has started gathering in the markets of every city. On the first day of Diwali, there will be huge purchase of house-property, vehicles, utensils, jewellery, electronic items on Dhanteras. Last year, a business of Rs 50,000 crore was done on Dhanteras, this figure is expected to be crossed this year. This time also there is huge demand for Indian products in the market.

House sales will increase by 20 percent

The sale of houses will increase by 20 percent. It is estimated that on Dhanteras (Dhanteras 2024), builders expect an increase of 5 percent to 20 percent in the sale of houses as compared to last year. Inquiries and demand for houses priced above Rs 1 crore have increased. Sales of electronic devices will increase by 30 percent. Industry body SIEMA said that on the day of Dhanteras, there may be an increase of 20 to 30 percent in the sales of smartphones along with fridges, TVs, washing machines. Sales of expensive (premium) equipment are expected to be higher in cities.

Wild rise in gold and silver prices

Due to the auspicious purchase of gold, Naco Gold CEO Suvankar Sen said that due to the huge increase in the prices of gold and silver this year, there is an expected decline in the sales of jewelery and gold coins on Dhanteras, but according to the value, the sale of gold jewelery will increase. It may increase by 12 to 15 percent. Since buying gold and silver on Dhanteras is considered auspicious, people will make good purchases of gold, sales of light jewelery are expected to be strong.

Increase in car-bike sales on Dhanteras

Vehicle sales will be 10 percent higher. Automobile companies are expecting at least 10 times increase in car-bike sales on Dhanteras (Dhanteras 2024) as compared to last year. According to the report, car sales on Dhanteras are expected to be around 50,000 units, which was 41,000 units last year.

Dhanteras will be celebrated on 29 October (Dhanteras 2024)

Regarding the date, Dhanteras will be celebrated on Tuesday (29 October). Narak Chaturdashi i.e. Chhoti Diwali will be celebrated the next day i.e. on 30th October. There is some confusion regarding the date of Diwali this year. Due to Amavasya Tithi of Kartik month falling two days later, some people are celebrating Diwali on 31st October while some people will celebrate it on 1st November. Govardhan Puja is being celebrated on 2nd November and Bhai Dooj is being celebrated on 3rd November.
