Sikar : The journey of railways in Sikar will turn 102 years old on Thursday. On this day in 1922, the first train with a steam engine came chugging to Sikar railway station. Many British officers reached Sikar railway station by sitting in it. According to historian Mahavir Purohit, these officers had come to express condolences after the death of Rao Raja Madhav Singh. Apart from Rao Raja Kalyan Singh and Diwan Bhanwar Singh, selected officers also reached the railway station to see him off in the same train. This first train had three to four coaches, which became regular from December 11.
