Jaisalmer : Jaisalmer MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati reached the protest site on Monday in protest against the ongoing work of a private company in Baiya village of Fatehgarh area of Jaisalmer. From the protest site itself, the MLA called up Collector Pratap Singh and put forward the demands of the villagers. MLA Bhati told the demands of the villagers to the Collector and said that the solar plant should be installed 3-4 km away from the village. Along with this, to get Oran’s land registered in the revenue records, it was said that the Patwari should get the land re-measured. Collector Pratap Singh asked MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati to sit and talk with the delegation of villagers. On which everyone agreed.
It is noteworthy that the villagers of Baiya village have been sitting on strike for the last 15 days demanding to save Oran. The villagers are opposing the solar plant being built by a private company. Shiv MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati is also supporting the villagers in this protest. In such a situation, on Monday, Jaisalmer MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati also reached the protest site and met the villagers.
Demand to install solar plant 3-4 km away
Jaisalmer MLA, who reached the dharna in Baiya village on Monday, asked the Collector to set up the plant 3-4 km away from the village. The MLA said that the solar plant will increase the heat, hence it should be installed far away. He also asked the Collector to get the land measured by the Patwari regarding Oran’s land which is not recorded in the revenue records. During this time, a large number of villagers were also present at the protest site. The MLA called the Collector from the protest site itself and told him everything and Collector Pratap Singh said that very soon he would hold a meeting with the villagers and present all the things to the administration.
Opposition to solar plant
A private company’s solar plant is going to be built in Baiya village of the district. In such a situation, when the GSS work started, the villagers protested against it. Shiv MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati also reached this protest and there was a mild argument with the police. Meanwhile, a case of obstruction in official work has also been registered by the police against Shiv MLA on Saturday. On Monday, Jaisalmer MLA also reached the protest site and took the demands of the villagers to the Collector.
