Tonk: 10 years imprisonment to accused of raping married girl

Tonk : On Friday, the POCSO court convicted a young man in the case of raping a married woman and sentenced him to ten years of rigorous imprisonment. Besides, a fine of twenty thousand rupees has also been imposed. Special Public Prosecutor Mohammad Mian Gulzar said that on August 10, 2020, the victim had given a report at Uniara police station. It was told that on August 4, 2020, at 2 pm, the victim had gone to Nadi near her house to bathe the children. She was drying clothes on the thorny fence near Nadi, when Laxman and Vikas came there.

Vikas caught hold of the victim’s children and Laxman took the victim to a kutcha house built on the dam. There Laxman raped the victim. When the victim started screaming, Laxman threatened to kill her children. The victim got scared and later came home in a delirious state. From that day onwards his health started deteriorating. When the husband asked, the victim narrated the entire incident. She reached Uniara police station with her husband and filed a case against both of them. After investigation, the police found Laxman (28), son of Rajaram Meena, resident of Lavdar police station Mehndwas, guilty of rape and presented the challan before Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Uniyara on 17 December 2020. In this case, the police investigation did not find any crime against the second accused.

On the other hand, Uniara Court transferred this case to POCSO Court Tonk on March 12. After hearing both the sides, the judge on Friday sentenced Laxman Meena to ten years of rigorous imprisonment.
