Devuthani festival was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm across the district including Tonk : District Headquarters on Tuesday. On this occasion, marriages of Peepal-Saligram Maharaj took place at many places. People participated in the function dressed as gharati and baraati. The women dressed up and performed the puja. Children and youth also burst firecrackers.
On the other hand, auspicious works have started with Devuthani. Even on Tuesday, like Akhtij, there is inexplicable darkness. More than five hundred marriages will take place across the district.
Programs were also organized at many places at the district headquarters. Jaipur – The marriage of Peepal-Saligram Maharaj was solemnized at Balaji Temple in Shakti Nagar Colony near Kota National Highway 52. Rajesh Mahawar told that before the marriage, the procession of Saligrama Maharaj left with much fanfare from Ghantaghar Sitaramji Maharaj Temple.
It passed through the main market via National Highway and reached Shakti Nagar Colony, Balaji Temple. Where the Peepal-Saligram marriage took place with the chanting of Vedic mantras. During this, couples like Mamta-Brijesh Sahu, Vimla-Chunnilal, Radha-Rajesh Mahawar, Gayatri-Chiranjilal, Pratima-Lalaram Gurjar etc. cooperated.
At the end, food and prasad were distributed among the colonists. Rajesh Mahawar said that through such events, knowledge of mythological traditions is imparted to the new generation and Hindu religion gets strengthened. People participated in the program with enthusiasm.
