Tonk : Newly elected BJP MLA from Devli-Uniara Rajendra Gurjar took oath as the 16th Assembly member in the Speaker’s chamber in the Assembly on Tuesday afternoon. Speaker Vasudev Devnani administered him the oath of office and secrecy. Along with him, all the seven MLAs who won in the by-election also took oath.

Today, on the strength of the immense love and trust of the people of Deoli-Uniara, I took oath as an MLA in the Rajasthan Assembly. This oath is not just a responsibility but a pledge for the development, confidence and self-respect of every citizen of Deoli-Uniara. It is my religion to bring the light of prosperity and progress to every village and every street of Deoli Uniara.
Let it be known that newly elected Rajendra Gurjar has been elected MLA for the second time from Devli Uniara assembly constituency. He was an MLA in the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje government from 2013 to 2018. In the first term, he defeated veteran Congress leader and the then Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Ramnarayan Meena by 29635 votes. He won by defeating independent candidate Naresh Meena by 41141 votes. Congress has suffered a huge defeat in this election. The security deposit of the Congress candidate was confiscated. The Congress candidate has been at number three.
