Tonk rapist sentenced to 15 years rigorous imprisonment

Tonk : On Monday, the POCSO court sentenced the rapist to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a married woman. Besides, a fine of Rs 60 thousand has also been imposed. Special Public Prosecutor Mohammad Mian Gulzar in the POCSO court said that the victim along with her husband had lodged a report at the Old Tonk police station on June 27, 2020. It was told that Imran is a friend of my brother-in-law, he used to come to our house. When my husband was not at home, Imran used to molest me and even threatened to kill my children despite my refusal.

One day Imran came to our house around 2-3 in the night and threatened me and raped me. He also threatened that if you told this to anyone, he would kill your children. After this, Imran kept threatening me and raping me daily for many days. Police registered the case and investigated. During investigation, Imran (23), son of Mohammad Iqbal, resident of Chhota Bazar, Old Tonk, present Kagzi Mohalla, near Tejaji Ka Bada, Sanganer police station, Sanganer district Jaipur, was arrested considering him guilty. The police presented a challan against him in the Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Tonk on 7 August 2020. Which was transferred to POCSO Court on 1 May 2024.

While giving the verdict on this today, Special Judge Madhusudan Sharma, while commenting on the decision, said that Imran is a habitual criminal, against whom cases are registered in other cases also. The guilty youth has repeatedly raped a woman who is the mother of three children and mostly lives alone at home. Keeping in mind all the facts and circumstances of the case, Imran has been found guilty under various sections and sentenced to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment. Besides, a fine of Rs 60 thousand has also been imposed on him.
