Kasganj, November 12 (IANS). A tragic accident took place in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday morning. Here in town Mohanpura, four people died after getting buried in mud and many women and children got buried in mud. After receiving information about the incident, police and other officials reached the spot and the relief and rescue process was started. The pit was so deep that JCB had to be called to rescue the women and children. After this everyone was sent to the hospital for treatment.
According to the information, children and women had come here to collect soil. Then the clay pot suddenly fell. About 20 women and children are buried under the soil. The clay pot was very hollow. When children and women were digging soil, they became victims of this accident, in which four people died.
After the incident, women and children were taken out and everyone was sent to the district hospital for treatment. A woman was also declared dead during treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Rambeti (32) wife of Dan Pal resident of Rampur, Prem Devi (35) wife of Ganga Prasad resident of Rampur, Saraswati (33) wife of Raghuveer resident of Rampur and Pinky (12) daughter of Manpal resident of Rampur.
After receiving information about this accident, District Magistrate Medha Rupam, SP Aparna Rajat Kaushik, MLA Hariom Verma and BJP District President KP Singh Solanki reached the spot. They are interrogating the villagers regarding this incident.
Speaking to journalists regarding this incident, the Chief Medical Officer said, “These people had gone to bring soil. These people had gone to collect soil to participate in some function. Then these people became victims of the accident due to the collapse of the wall. So far 9 people have been brought here. Out of which four women have died and five people are out of danger. Out of these, we have referred two people to Aligarh. The rest is being treated here.”
Meanwhile, villager Hemlata said about this incident, “We had gone to dig soil. Two and a half got buried. There were 10-12 people. Some were suppressed. Some people died in this accident.”
Kishanlal, another villager, said, “A culvert was being built. For this reason a pit was made. Some people had gone to dig soil. Then these people became victims of an accident in which 15-20 people were buried.”
After taking cognizance of this accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed top officials to investigate. It has been made clear by the Chief Minister that there should not be any kind of hindrance in the treatment of the victims of the accident. Apart from this, instructions have also been given by the Chief Minister to provide proper assistance to the victims of the accident.
