Alwar : A painful road accident took place in Shivaji Park police station area of Alwar city on Saturday afternoon. An oil tanker dragged a bike for about 200 meters near Dussehra ground on Behror Road. The young man riding the bike was going for the exam with his wife, sister and 9 month old daughter. In the accident, the young man’s wife and sister died on the spot, while he himself and his daughter were seriously injured. He has been admitted to the district hospital.
According to Shivaji Park police station in-charge Rajpal Singh, Shailendra (27), injured in the accident, is the son of traffic police head constable Girraj Singh. He had left from his village Teharpur in Vijay Mandir police station area to drop his wife Veerwati (26) and sister Saraswati (23) to the exam centre. After entering Alwar city, an oil tanker coming from behind near Dussehra ground crushed him and dragged him for about 200 meters. In this accident, Shailendra’s wife Veeravati and sister Saraswati died on the spot, while Shailendra and his 9-month-old daughter Vanshika are seriously injured. Both have suffered fractures in their legs and arms. Shailendra’s wife Veeravati’s CET exam was in Desula and sister Saraswati’s exam center was in Malakheda. He was going to give the exam in the second innings, but before that this tragic accident happened.
As soon as information about the incident was received, Shailendra’s father Head Constable Girraj Singh, who was on duty in Alwar city, immediately reached the hospital. People who reached the spot said that the accident happened around 12.30 pm and the police team arrived after 30 minutes. The bike was badly stuck under the tanker. After the accident, Shailendra and his daughter were admitted to the hospital, where their treatment is ongoing. Shailendra and Veervati were married in 2021. This accident has created a wave of mourning in Shailendra’s family and village. Head constable Girraj Singh has four children, out of which a daughter and daughter-in-law died in this accident. Efforts are being made to support the family by providing treatment to the injured son and granddaughter.
