Hamirpur, 6 December (IANS). Under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, launched with the aim of motivating the youth to set up their own enterprises by training them, local people were given training in 18 trades including mason and carpenter at NIT Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh.
Under this, people were given training to build houses with laser technology instead of doing construction work with traditional tools like trowel, lace, cloth and yarn. Under this technique, there will be no need to hold the tape from both sides to measure the height, length and width of the house. This work can be done in just one click with the laser distance meter.
11 people took training in carpenter trade and 21 people took training in mason trade. Apart from this, along with training amount of Rs 500 per day, these people were also given PM Vishwakarma certificate, identity card and toolkit worth Rs 15 thousand. Besides, a loan of Rs 3 lakh is also being provided at five percent interest rate.
Professor Bhanu Marwah of the Department of Architecture, NIT Hamirpur said, “This entire program was for seven days. The first day was zero day. On this day, these people were registered. After this, these people were trained for the next five days. The last i.e. on the seventh day. These people were evaluated.
As part of the training, these people were told about the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. After this, these people were told about its tools. After this they worked with the tools. Under this, these people did many experiments related to bricks and also learned to make pots made of bricks. Also made brick furniture for students and staff to sit in schools. Bank officials told him about the loan scheme.
Then the experts of the Industry Department explained the industry in detail. Additionally, experts in insurance and computer science provided information from their respective departments. All this will help these people a lot in starting their own industry.
Pro. Sandeep Sharma said, “We have covered various trades. There are a total of 18 trades in it. Under this scheme, we have started having different batches. Last time we took a big batch, which had carpenters who were trained in new technology. And efforts were made to make them experts with the equipment. In this batch, they were given practical training as well as theory. Apart from this, a paper was also taken and certificates were issued to them.
He said, “We not only provided practical training but also added some additional aspects to this scheme. In today’s era where everyone starts work by getting a house plan made, these trainees need to be able to understand and read the plans. There was a lack of capacity. So, we created a module and taught people how to draw maps and read them. We also taught them how to calculate elevations, sections, and other technical details. read and Is written.”
He said, “Where earlier people used to thrash by hand and use other traditional equipment, now we have introduced new technologies. Under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, trainees were exposed to equipment like power ribbon and laser distance meter. Where earlier we used to measure with tape, now we have improved the way they measure and we have given them hands-on training on all these new techniques. From During this period, we had a large batch of 11 people who have now become experts. Besides this, training was also given to the masons, which ensured that people were not only doing practical work. “But they were also given information about new technologies and equipment.”
