World Remembrance Day was organized at Tonk : Deoli on Sunday late evening. On this occasion, the Transport Department paid tribute to the people who lost their lives in road accidents throughout the year and gave the message of increasing awareness about road safety rules.
Transport department officials, employees and local people gathered at Mamta Circle in the city. By lighting candles, prayers were offered for the peace of the souls of those killed in road accidents. During this, people were motivated to follow road safety rules and prevent accidents.
Negligence said to be the main reason
Transport officials cited carelessness as the biggest reason behind road accidents. He appealed to the people to strictly follow the traffic rules and inspire others too. Everyone present at the program was administered an oath to ensure road safety.
On this occasion, Sub Transport Inspector Ashok Kumar, Information Assistant Ravi Jakhar, Omprakash Tepan of Traffic Branch, Guard Shivraj Singh, Rameshwar Gurjar, Neeraj Sharma and many others were present.
