Kolkata, 13 November (IANS). Voting for by-elections on six assembly seats of West Bengal concluded on Wednesday. BJP and Trinamool Congress have claimed victory on all the seats.
Trinamool leader Kunal Ghosh has reacted to the by-elections held on these seats and the statement of BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari. He has said that people do not like BJP in Bengal because BJP is against Bengal. Will win all the seats in Bengal.
According to the Election Commission, 66.35 percent voting took place in Sitai seat of West Bengal, 71.85 percent in Medinipur, 62.10 percent in Naihati, 73.95 percent in Harao, 75.20 percent in Taldangra and 64.15 percent in Madarihat.
On the statement given by the Supreme Court on the bulldozer action, the Trinamool leader said, “There is democracy in the country and if demolition action is to be taken against someone then the court’s direction is necessary for it. If you are against someone then will you say that you will take bulldozer action? The Supreme Court has reminded the BJP that work will be done only as per democracy.”
In response to a question asked on the assembly elections, he said that there is talk of development in Mamata Banerjee’s government and development has taken place. The people here have seen development under the Trinamool government. The central government is behaving step-wise towards Bengal. Bengal’s share of money is not being released. BJP knows that the people will not vote for them, that is why the central government is not releasing the money for Bengal’s share. He said that in the by-elections held on six assembly seats of Bengal, Trinamool Congress is going to win six out of six seats.
R.G. West Bengal Governor sought a report from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the claims of the main accused regarding former Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal in the tax case. On this Kunal Ghosh said, “The Governor himself writes the letter and reads it himself.”
