Churu : In two separate cases of almost nine years old Doda Post smuggling of Churu police station area Sadulpur, Additional District Sessions Judge II has punished two accused with rigorous imprisonment for seven years. Whereas in another case, an accused has been punished with three years rigorous imprisonment. According to the case, on January 11, 2015, Sidhmukh police station officer Balraj Singh Maan started a blockade on Sidhmukh Bhadra road with a police team. During this time, the police signaled the driver of the car coming from Sidhmukh’s side to stop the car but he started driving away. The police chased the car for about 15 to 16 kilometers. Due to high speed, the car went out of control and got dragged 200 feet on two tires in the fields.
When the police station officer chased him and reached the car, one person was sitting on the driver’s seat and the other person had got down from the car. When the police took the car driver out and asked his name, he said his name was Virendra Singh, son of Hanuman Singh, caste Rajput, age 35 years, resident of Ward No. 10 TB Hanumangarh and the other gave his name Mohammad Zuber alias Kala, son of Hakanwaz caste Muslim, age 40 years, resident of Rathi Kheda police station Tibbi. The district was told to be Hanumangarh. When the police searched the car, it was found that a total of 47 kg of poppy seeds were filled in three white plastic bags kept in the trunk of the car and it was said that there was no license permit for transporting the poppy seeds. The police seized the illegal poppy husk and arrested the accused, confiscated the car, investigated the matter and presented the challan in the court. In the case, Additional District Sessions Judge Second Latika Deepak Parashar thoroughly observed the evidence, witnesses and evidence on file and found the accused Virendra Singh and Mohammad Zuber alias Kala guilty under the NDPS Act and sentenced them to seven years of rigorous imprisonment and Rs 50,000 each. Sunil Basera Kalri, Additional Public Prosecutor II, represented the state government in the case and was punished with a fine of Rs.
One accused sentenced in Doda poppy smuggling
In an almost 8 year old Doda Post smuggling case, Additional District Sessions Judge II has sentenced an accused to three years rigorous imprisonment. Whereas the proceedings have been dropped due to the death of one of the accused in the case. According to the incident, on 24 February 2016, Sidhmukh police station officer Madanlal Bishnoi stopped a motorcycle coming from Sidhmukh during the blockade. On which two persons were riding. When interrogated, the driver revealed his name as Dharmendra son of Fadi Singh caste Sansi, age 23 years and the person sitting behind revealed his name as Soni Singh son of Mahendra Singh alias Rabba caste Sansi, age 30 years, residence Ramnagar Sangrur Punjab. When both the accused were interrogated, they got scared. When the police station officer got suspicious, he checked the plastic bag held by the person sitting on the motorcycle, Soni Singh, and found a total of 6 kg 500 grams of illegal doda poppy powder in two polythene bags in the bag. And the accused said that they did not have license permit. The police arrested both the accused, registered the case, conducted investigation and presented the challan in the court. In the case, Additional District Sessions Judge II Latika Deepak Parashar, after thoroughly observing the witnesses and the evidence on file, convicted the accused Soni Singh and sentenced him to three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ten thousand rupees, while the accused Dharmendra Due to Singh’s death, the action against him was dropped.
