Nagaur : Nagaur After almost eight and a half years, two accused were charged in the robbery case. Heavy security forces were deployed around Nagaur Court on Thursday. Traffic remained closed just outside the court for about two hours. Both the hardcore criminals were presented in the court under strict surveillance. It is noteworthy that in February 2016, about 44 quintals of seeds were looted from the Seed Corporation located on Balwa Road. About eight armed miscreants had committed the crime. This case was registered in the Kotwali police station on 19 February 2016, now the accused Virendra Singh Rajput (30) and Ashok Kumar Meghwal (29), resident of Jhunjhunu, have been produced and charged. The Ars Act imposed on both of them has been removed.
Virendra Singh was brought here from Bikaner and Ashok Kumar was brought here from Ajmer jail. RAC and QRT personnel along with Kotwali police station were deployed outside Nagaur Court. Virendra landed here wearing a yellow T-shirt and Ashok Kumar in a white shirt. From where they were presented in the court, charges were announced to both of them in the presence of Additional Public Prosecutor Ghanshyam Mehra. Also both of them were discharged from the Ars Act. It is said that the case related to Ars Act has been found certified in Bikaner. Many criminal cases are registered against Virendra Singh and Ashok Kumar. For a long time they were supposed to be charged but for some reason or the other they were not being produced. So much time has passed.
Additional Public Prosecutor Ghanshyam Mehrada said that the incident took place on 18 February 2016 in the warehouse of Rajasthan State Insurance Corporation Limited. The then manager Ramniwas Jangid told in his report that he had gone to Jaipur, late in the night he got information on his mobile that eight-ten unknown miscreants had come and held watchmen Kanaram Tandi and Dinesh Tandi hostage at gunpoint and kept about 44 quintals in the warehouse. Took mung-moth seeds. The watchman’s involvement is also visible in this. Police registered a case on this and started investigation. During investigation, Virendra Singh and Ashok Kumar told that along with selling the goods, weapons were seized in Bikaner. It is said that apart from these two, eight accused are still absconding. Vikas Beniwal, Narendra Singh, Dholiya alias Dholu Jat alias Mahendra, Anil, JP Jat alias Jai Prakash Jat, Sandeep Jat, Illu alias Jitendra and Subhash Jat could not be caught by the police.
